Fully Involved Building Fire in Honey Brook Twp

03:30hrs - Ambulance 189-1 was dispatched to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company with a reported barn fire in the 6400 block of Emery Road in Honey Brook Township. Reported to 911 as a 2 story barn the size of a house on fire, reporting party stating they can see flames coming from structure possibly 60x30ft about 10ft from a detached garage.

Chief 33 arrived on location 03:34hrs reporting a commercial structure large wood shop (Sweetwater Structures) full involved with multiple exposures and requested a tanker task force. Multiple agencies from Chester, Lancaster and Berks counties were called to assist. 2 engines utilized a small stream to draft water, however it quickly dried up. Command requested a second fill site set-up with a second alarm tanker task force with 9 tankers hauling water, hydrants at the elementary school & hardware store were used to refill the empty tankers.

Ambulance 189-1 requested a rehabilitation tent set-up from Good Fellowship ambulance along with bringing ambulance 89-2 to the scene for any potential medical emergencies. Two North Penn canteen trucks from Montgomery County were also brought into the scene. Several local business donated coffee and food to the crews battling the blaze with our special thanks going out to McDonald’s, September Farms, Dunkin Donuts and Twin Valley Coffee.

Crews performed extensive overhaul and cleanup for multiple hours, with all crews going back in service at 11:30hrs

The following companies assisted in this incident, from Chester County, Honey Brook, Twin Valley, Glenmoore, East Brandywine, Keystone Valley, Wagontown, Sadsburyville, and Good Fellowship EMS for rehab. From Berks County. From Berks County, Geigertown FC. From Lancaster County, Caernarvon, Weaverland Valley, White Horse, Martindale, and Garden Spot. Along with the two canteen trucks from North Penn in Montgomery County.
Numerous additional departments also responded for standby assignments to cover the local response areas of stations busy at the scene.
