Today EHBEMS Captain’s Eno & McCully along with Chief Engineer Englander attended the graduation of EMT L. Dymond from the Octorara Area Homeland Security & Protective Services Academy. The Academy serves students interested in careers in Fire Fighting, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical, and Emergency Management. The program is an approved PA Department of Education Career Program of Study. Upon completion, it can be credited for post secondary education and students have the ability to earn State and National job-related certifications, which are required for entry level positions. The 3-year Academy is located at the Chester County Emergency Services Training Center in Coatesville, a large facility equipped with the latest technology and equipment available for first responder training.
EMT Dymond started with EHBEMS as a ride-along observer to complete her patient contacts and ride time through the program. Upon successful completion of her EMT training through the academy, she began as a volunteer member, before switching to career staff once she turned 18 years old. Not only did EMT Dymond graduate today from the O.H.S.P.S.A program, she was awarded the “2022 Law Cadet Of The Year” at the ceremony. In addition to EMT Dymond’s accomplishments, she will be joining the United States Navy in July of this year!
During the ceremony cadet L. Bramm received the “Student Of The Quarter” award. This young lady has been participating in a weekly shift ride-along with the EHBEMS Officers while she is working diligently toward obtaining her EMT certification among others during her time in the academy. Cadet Bramm has expressed interest in following in the foot steps of EMT Dymond in becoming a EHBEMS volunteer once certified before making the possible move to career staff. Cadet Bramm will graduate in 2023.
CONGRATULATIONS to these amazing young ladies, we are very proud of you both!
