Accident w/ Entrapment in Warwick |

17:56hrs - Ambulance 89-1 along with paramedic 193 (Tower) were dispatched to assist Engine 33-5 (Honey Brook) with an accident reported with entrapment in the area of Ridge Road and Old Ridge Road in Warwick Township. Rescue 69 (Twin Valley) were also dispatched. Note: Engine 33-5 were enroute to provide coverage for Ridge Fire Company (Sta. 62) while they operated on the scene of a working house fire in East Coventry Township. Engine 33-5 arrived on location minutes after the crash. An update from Chester County dispatch reported a vehicle vs. a pole than into the woods, with 1 person confined in the vehicle. Captain 33 reported the pole snapped with wires down across the roadway. Ambulance 89-1 arrived on location simultaneously with paramedic 193, the EMS crew were directed toward the woods near the roadway by Captain 33, EMS found the vehicle buried under a large bush in a wooded area with the driver confined in the vehicle. Rescue 69 arrived and performed a “door pop” of the drivers side door for EMS to gain entry to the patient, extrication of the patient was completed within 2 minutes. The patient was evaluated then transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The roadway was shut down for an extended period of time while Verizon responded out to the incident.
