The board of directors for Elverson Honey Brook Area EMS is proud to name Matthew C. Welch as our new Chief of Operations. Chief Welch assumed the role beginning the week of September 1st, 2022.
Chief Welch comes to EHBEMS most recently from Western Berks EMS in West Lawn, PA. He has served in various capacities in public safety for almost 20 years. He became a paramedic in 2009 having served as both a firefighter and EMT prior to obtaining his certification. In addition to his operational success, he is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy program on Emergency Medical Services: Quality Management. With a track record of clinical excellence, cutting edge system design, and the highest quality patient care standards; Chief Welch will assist in aligning EHBEMS with the current national best practices and working with TowerDirect to ensure that ALS service to the community remains uninterrupted.
“This is an organization that has so much potential. Our residents, the business community, and our supportive municipalities are all critical to our continued growth and maintaining the excellent level of service everyone has come to expect,” said Chief Welch upon accepting the position. Outgoing Chief Joe Carmen will be assisting with the transition as he leaves the agency to accept a role in the nursing field.
“As a family-oriented organization, we pride ourselves on our service to the community. Chief Welch will bring strong leadership to our organization as we navigate the many challenges that the COVID-19 Pandemic created. I look forward to working closely with him in molding not only the future of our organization but the future of EMS throughout our Community.” said executive director Stephen Bobella.
