Multiple Accidents On The Pennsylvania Turnpike

On September 23rd, 2023, at 08:22 am Twin Valley Fire Department along with Elverson-Honey Brook EMS were dispatched to the Pennsylvania Turnpike East Bound Mile Marker 306.7 in Wallace Township for an auto accident.

Ambulance 89-1 made the response along with Rescue 69 and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center of 1 vehicle into the median with unknown injuries. Rescue 69 staged off of the turnpike to allow Ambulance 89 to investigate the scene and determine if their services would be needed. Ambulance 89-1 arrived to confirm the report and advised that the fire department would not be needed.

Ambulance 89-1 transported 1 patient to an area hospital for their injuries and turned the scene over to the state police and the turnpike commission.

At 10:20 am The Twin Valley Fire Department and Elverson-Honey Brook EMS were dispatched to the Pennsylvania Turnpike West Bound Lane in West Nantmeal Township for another auto accident.

Rescue 69 and Ambulance 89-1 made the response and were given multiple locations on the turnpike for this accident. The Chester County 911 Center had numerous callers reporting several different locations. Rescue 69 was the first arriving unit to confirm 303.0 EB on the turnpike. Ambulance 89-1 arrived to find all subjects out of the vehicle with 1 patient to be checked.

Ambulance 89-1 determined that the patient needed to be transported to a hospital for their injuries. Ambulance 89-1 transported the patient to an area hospital while Rescue 69 remained on the scene to await the arrival of the Pennsylvania State Police.
