Working Garage Fire In Elverson Borough

On June 25th, 2024, Twin Valley Fire Department along with mutual aid from around the area were dispatched to the unit block of East Main Street in Elverson Borough for a reported garage fire.

Twin Valley Fire Department units along with mutual aid responded and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported a stand alone garage was on fire. Chief 69 (Hornberger) arrived and established command for this incident. Chief 69 confirmed a working fire and requested a “Working Fire Dispatch” which added additional units, utilities, fire marshal’s to the assignment.

Ladder 69 was the first arriving fire apparatus and their crew began fire suppression efforts. Engine 69-5 arrived and established a water supply from a fire hydrant which was in close proximity to the fire. Ambulance 89 arrived and stood by while the fire personnel were operating on the scene. Ambulance 89 also setup rehab for the fire personnel handing out water. As responding apparatus arrived they were given their assignments by the command.

Thankfully the fire was extinguished quickly by personnel on the scene and the fire was placed under control at 21:50 with all hands working. The assignment was scaled back to units on the scene.

Ambulance 89-1 cleared the scene at 23:01.
