| Today marked the final day of support operations alongside Honor 37 during the Law Enforcement United “Road to Hope” ride. The day began in Bethany Beach, Delaware, and concluded at the Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department after another long and meaningful stretch of roadway shared between riders, support crews, and the communities that welcomed them along the way. Unlike the warm and calm conditions of previous days, today’s ride brought periods of heavy rain that significantly increased the difficulty for the cyclists and support teams alike. Even in the challenging weather, the determination of the riders never wavered. The route carried the team through the countryside of Delaware and Maryland, providing a noticeable change in scenery from the coastal communities of New Jersey and Delaware that marked the earlier portions of the ride. The quieter rural landscapes seemed to offer an opportunity for reflection as the journey neared its conclusion. Despite the rain and difficult conditions, community support remained constant. Residents, volunteers, and public safety personnel continued to come out along the route to encourage the riders and support the mission. That support serves as an important reminder that the mission of Law Enforcement United reaches far beyond any single agency, discipline, or community. One of the strongest takeaways from these past several days has been the reminder that all members of the public safety profession share a common bond. Whether law enforcement, EMS, fire service, dispatch, emergency management, or support personnel, we all understand the sacrifices that come with serving others. We stand beside one another during difficult moments, honor those we have lost, and continue supporting the families and survivors who carry those losses every day. Elverson Honey Brook Area EMS is proud to have partnered with Western Berks Ambulance Association in supporting Honor 37 and the mission of Law Enforcement United throughout this journey. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a mission built on remembrance, service, and unity across the entire public safety community. |
