Working House Fire In West Nantmeal Township

On April 3rd, 2023, The Twin Valley Fire Department, Honey Brook Fire Company, Glen Moore Fire Company and Ambulance 89 were dispatched to the unit block of Isabella Road in West Nantmeal Township for a reported house fire.

Deputy 69 (Spangler) responded and was advised flames were seen on the first floor of the house and an evacuation was in progress with explosions. Deputy 69 arrived to confirm a fully involved working dwelling fire with a subject shooting at the police officers on the scene. Deputy 69 requested the "Working Fire Dispatch" and 1st alarm Tanker Task Force and advised for all incoming units to stage out of the area as the scene was unsafe for responders. All incoming units staged out of the area until the police department cleared the scene. Due to the nature of the call Ambulance 189 responded to the call to assist Ambulance 89.

The scene was secured by the police department and units proceeded to the scene for fire extinguishment and EMS units were also requested for a subject that had been shot. Ambulance 89-1, Ambulance 189 and Micu 193's crew started stabilizing the patient for transport. Ambulance 89 and Medic 193 transported the patient to an area hospital with a police escort from the Pennsylvania State Police.

EMS Chief 89 (Welch) arrived and assumed the EMS Operations for this incident and requested a rehab unit from the Gordonville Fire and EMS Company in Lancaster County to the scene. Ambulance 189 remained on the scene to provide rehab along with the Gordonville Fire and EMS Company Rehab Unit.

The fire was placed under control by Deputy 69 which all units remained on the scene while the police department conducted an investigation. Deputy 69 requested 2 light towers to the scene to assist the police department during their investigation.
