Two Patients Critically Injured From A Motorcycle Accident In Honey Brook Township

On September 4th, 2023, at 11:40 am the Honey Brook Fire Company along with Elverson-Honey Brook EMS and Tower Direct Medics were dispatched in Honey Brook Township for an auto accident involving a motorcycle.

Ambulance 189 made the response in 40 seconds after the dispatch and was advised of 2 patients down in the roadway. Micu 193 made the response as well and requested a 2nd medic to the scene. Ambulance 189 arrived at 11:44 am to confirm the report and was advised by a critical care nurse on the scene of 1 patient in cardiac arrest. Ambulance 189's crew began immediate care of the patients along with other providers on the scene. Micu 193 arrived, and a report was given to them by the 189-crew due to the nature of the incident rapid transport was needed for patient 1 which was loaded into Micu 193. The Honey Brook Fire Company units arrived to assist EMS with packaging and loading of all patients. Westwood Micu 244 was dispatched to assist as the 2nd medic and their crew assisted with the 2nd patient which was loaded into Ambulance 189.

Micu 193 began transport to an area trauma center at 11:56 just 7 minutes after their arrival. Micu 193 requested the Tower Health Critical care truck (Berks 683-99) to meet them enroute to the trauma center. Ambulance 189 started transport of the 2nd patient 12:02 pm also to an area trauma center. The Tower Health Critical Care Truck met up with Micu 193 enroute to the trauma center and began more invasive procedures on the patient.

The Honey Brook Fire Company remained on the scene to assist the police department with traffic and scene control. The Officers and Members of the Elverson-Honey Brook EMS would like to send our thoughts and prayers to the patients and family members affected by this incident.
