Wind. Rain. Gray skies.
Apparently, none of that was enough to keep this community home.
We estimate that approximately 300 people joined Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS and Twin Valley Fire Department for our Joint Open House on Saturday, and we could not be more grateful for the incredible turnout.
Throughout the day, families had the opportunity to meet the people behind their local fire and EMS services, explore emergency vehicles, participate in activities, and watch demonstrations showing just a small part of the work our first responders train to perform every day.
More importantly, it gave us an opportunity to spend time together as a community.
Events like this simply do not happen without an enormous amount of work behind the scenes. We want to thank the members of Twin Valley Fire Department and Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS who spent countless hours planning, setting up, conducting demonstrations, answering questions, working with visitors, and cleaning up afterward.
We are also deeply appreciative of every business, organization, vendor, and community partner that participated. Your willingness to spend a rainy Saturday with us helped turn an open house into a true community event.
We would especially like to recognize Rob's Towing for its continued support and participation. Having local businesses willing to provide their time, equipment, and resources makes events like this possible and strengthens the relationships our emergency services depend on every day.
A very special thank-you also goes to Masthof Press for its generous support of EHBEMS and for the donation of our new EHBEMS event and rehabilitation tent, which made its debut at the Open House.
That tent is much more than an event display. It will become a working piece of our emergency response equipment, providing shelter for fireground rehabilitation, emergency standbys, public events, and extended incidents where our crews and our public safety partners may be operating for hours at a time. We are tremendously thankful to Masthof Press for investing in a resource that will directly support our responders and our community for years to come.
We also want to thank our partners from Caernarvon Township Police Department, A-Z Health Services, PA Boys BBQ, and Tower Health, along with everyone else who helped fill the station grounds with demonstrations, food, activities, information, and plenty of reasons to stay despite the weather.
We are especially grateful to Tower Health's sepsis coordinator for spending the day with us and helping bring important health education directly into the community. Partnerships like this help connect emergency response, hospital care, and public education in a way that ultimately benefits the people we all serve.
And finally, to the approximately 300 people who grabbed an umbrella, put on a raincoat, brought the kids, and came to see us:

Your support matters more than you probably realize.
EHBEMS and Twin Valley Fire Department may perform different roles, but we serve the same communities, respond to the same emergencies, train alongside one another, and share the same commitment to being there when our neighbors need us.
Saturday was a great example of what that partnership, and this community, can accomplish together.
